Colonial Jonathan Brewer was a Waltham resident
and served proudly for “New” England in the
Revolutionary War. He led a regiment that consisted of
397 men. Colonial Brewer’s regiment was involved in
the battle of Bunker Hill.
He owned and operated “The Brewer Tavern”,
which was located directly across the street from
our Waltham restaurant. Brewer operated the tavern
from 1770 until the early 1780’s. After Brewer sold
the tavern it was divided, and half was moved and
sat on the property where we operate our Waltham
restaurant from today. The original building was torn
down in 1922.
Today’s owners, Bill and Sue Honeycutt, realizing
the importance of community, decided to name
the restaurant after Brewer when they opened
their Waltham restaurant in 1998. In 2008, John
Brewer’s Tavern expanded to Malden and in 2012, a
brother restaurant, Brewer’s Coalition, opened in the
Newtonville section of Newton.
We pride ourselves on our independence, just
like Brewer before us. Visit any of our locations to
experience good food and libations at reasonable
prices. You will be served by our biggest asset, our
friendly, hardworking, and loyal staff.

IAP started off as a fun and exciting small breakfast
joint on Main Street back in 2004, but we have since
moved onto Waltham’s “Restaurant Row”! We can now
offer greater service, better food, and a clean atmosphere
with 10TVs, comfortable booths/tables, and a full size
counter/bar where you can sip on a freshly made Mimosa
or a locally crafted brew.
Being named a Phantom Gourmet ‘Great 8’ Breakfast

fallen lightly on us. We strive to live up to those humbling
